When it rains…

You all know the saying “When it rains, it pours.” I can tell you that it is completely true. I’ve had a lot happen in my life that brings me to believe 100% in that saying, for example, when my uncle died 6 years ago we had gone up to Pennsylvania for the funeral and everything and on our way home we got a call from the vet that our pets were being boarded at and they told us that the cat that we had owned before I was even born had passed away in their care. It doesn’t end there, because when we then finally did get home I found my hamster dead in it’s cage. Needless to say it definitely poured that week!

Recently I have been going through another pouring spell. I got the flu two weeks ago and that meant I could not go to school or work for an entire week. It isn’t easy for me to just not do anything for a week because I am a pretty busy person! I work a part-time retail job, I’m an intern at FCC, and a full time student. None of that really allows for me to just be at home for a week (I did really feel like death though so I couldn’t have gone anywhere if I wanted to). Plus, this was the week before Spring Break when I was supposed to go up to Pennsylvania and meet my cousin’s new baby boy. I have been looking forward to that trip for months now so the fact that we had to reschedule was a real bummer, but it is probably safer not to go around a two month old baby when you’ve just had the flu. We decided to make the most out of Spring Break anyway and take a short trip to Folly Beach and Charleston, SC. It was a great trip and one I needed to finally get the flu completely out of my system!

In true Bailey fashion I did end up getting sunburnt the second day at the beach on the right side of both my legs, which made walking around downtown Charleston not the most pleasurable experience. I made the most of it though and did some pretty good shopping and exploring downtown! Then the part I was dreading began approaching; the day I had to go back to classes and work and play a fun game of catch up on everything that I had missed. I missed a psychology exam and we already have another one this week, which I missed a week’s worth of notes for, several missed projects, and just a whole lot of notes. I was starting to get a little panicked. All of my professors have been really great at helping me get caught up though, which has been amazing! The (somewhat cheesy) point of this story being that there is always a rainbow after a storm. No matter what you are going through or how crazy life may seem life will calm down with time if you keep positive.

Now, I will be spending the weekend closing at work every night and finding some time in between to work on missed assignments while wishing I was still in Charleston avoiding all of my responsibilities.  Hope you all had a great week and a wonderful weekend!

xx,

Bails
