Making Valentine’s Day Positively Lovely.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about Valentine’s Day. Some days I hate it and think it is just some corporate holiday created to sell cards and flowers, but then other days I love it. Either way I just really love holidays so it gives me another reason to get excited and celebrate. Valentine’s Day isn’t all about people in relationships! It can just be a day to remember the people you love whether that be a boyfriend/girlfriends, best friend, or family member. That being said here are a few ways to make your Valentine’s Day positive:

1. Bake/buy some Valentine’s Day treats. Whether you are in a relationship or single Valentine’s Day is the perfect way to “Treat Yo Self!” (I felt okay typing that but saying it out loud made me cringe a bit, so I apologize if it made you cringe as well). Lots of places will be offering delicious Valentine’s themed food that I’m sure will brighten your day. If you’re feeling a bit crafty try making some of the many Valentine’s themed recipes that Pinterest has to offer!

2. Buy/make someone (or yourself) a present. Rather than sitting around doing nothing why not make someone else’s day by surprising them with a gift! I know I always feel really good when I make someone’s day. It doesn’t have to be much; you could even go old school and get some valentine cards and pass them out to people. It’s the little things in life really!

3. Throw a Galentine/Palentine party. Palentine is a word I completely made up but I am just saying it doesn’t have to be an all girl shindig! Get a group of friends together to have some good food and spend time with. One of the best ways to stay positive is to be surrounded by people you like! Gather some cute decorations, make some delicious Valentine themed food, and turn on some music. It’s that easy!

You can make it as elaborate or simple as you want, but since this post is going up the day before Valentine’s Day it may be a little last minute to do something super fancy. One unique way to make the party even more fun is by setting up a photobooth! Who doesn’t love a good photo op? Create a simple red and pink background with streamers or fairy lights and set out a Polaroid camera. I personally love the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8, which I have in light pink, because they are really easy to use and you can get a lot of neat accessories to go with it. You can buy them on Amazon here or on the Fujifilm website. Another thing I have been wanting to get my hands on to try is the HP Sprocket. It is a photo printer that prints photos from your phone, how cool is that?! It lets you edit your photos to add stickers or filters and it prints on sheets that are sticky on the back. It uses Zinc printing which means you don’t have to buy ink just paper. If you want to know more about them check them out here!

I hope these ideas spark some inspiration and help make your Valentine’s day great! Being single on Valentine’s day is no reason not to be positive. You can still have fun and make the most out of this seemingly commercial holiday!

Much Love xx,
